I highly recommend the Hitachi blade for installing Hardie Board. I installed siding on a 2700 sq foot house and a 24x36 out building and the blade was still working great.

"Must have for Hardi-Plank siding" 2006-12-16
By R. C. Stevens (Lebanon NJ USA)
Title says it all. Great blades. These things slice through fiber cement siding like a hot knife through butter. VERY low dust too. Long life on blade--I did a three car garage and attached 170 sq ft mudroom on one blade with no real noticeable dulling of blade. If you were siding a whole house or larger addition, you'd probably need two blades though.

 "Cuts cleanly" 2006-09-07
By PK (Midwest)
Not much needs to be said. This one delivers what you want in a saw blade; no noticeable vibration, cuts cleanly (top and bottom faces!), and lasts a long time considering you are essentially cutting cement and paper. Used on a 12" Bosch SCMS.

One other thing, if you are considering following the manufacturer's advice and using a power shears to cut fiber cement instead of a saw blade to minimize dust, save your money, buy a dust mask, and get this blade. The shears won't ever get you consistent edges and smooth cuts like this (I regretably wasted my money on the PC one). Also, use a sharp utility knife blade to do the 'score and snap' method for those cuts the SCMS cannot do -- and get the Malco nippers too!

 "Skil "pruning" blades..." 2009-06-14
By Rusty (CA)
These blades don't work any better or cut any faster than any reciprocating blades for wood cutting, which is exactly what these are. They are not special pruning blades, as the description suggests. They are much more flexible than my old blade, which I don't consider to be a benefit.

 "Not too bad" 2008-09-04
By Texaroo (Kerrville TX)
I purchased "Skil 94100-05 Pruning Reciprocating Saw Blades" specifically to use in pruning a flowering pear and a couple live oak trees. Since none of the branches have a diameter greater than 5 inches I thought they would work. Turns out I was right, they were able to walk through the limbs fairly well IF I supplied pressure to the branch to widen the kerf as I cut. The teeth need to be offset from each other to widen the cut as you go. Otherwise, the blade gets really hot, smokes and I would imagine hurts any tempering the blade may have started with. They get the job done, but they could be improved.

I don't like to pull out the gas chainsaw out for small jobs. I bought a 18v reciprocating saw and use these blades. They go through small trees with ease. I have used them on small trees with up to an 6 inch diameter. They rip right through them. No mess no fuss.

Worked well for dry cutting 4" x 8" x 2.6" pavers. I made approx. 40 diagonal cuts to finish a job and the blade was cutting about as well at the end as on the first cuts. It's a good value under 30 bucks.

I bought 2 of these since they were so cheap compared to some and I had a lot to do. I cut at least 60 3 inch thick by 12 inch concrete wall caps with it some cuts were 45 degree angles so the cut was very long. I finished the job and never opened the second blade. It was still cutting as fast as the first cut. Highly recommend it.

"can't believe this has so many 5 star reviews" 2009-09-29
By F. Kirk (Atlanta, GA)
Maybe I shouldn't complain; I got this product on sale. However, everytime I cut a dado I have significant tear out on the back side of the cut and the bottom is ANYTHING but smooth - so I smooth it with a float. Also, the plastic holder broke, but I suppose that is just the way plastic containers are. As the other reviewers mentioned, hang on to your instructions - they are just a small piece of cardboard. If I had it to do all over again, I would read the other product reviews and invest in a higher priced dado set and hope that the bottom of the cut is close to being smooth. There are a lot of folks that like this product, so maybe I just got a lemon.

"Good Dado - but Does Not Fit Jet XactaSaw Deluxe!" 2008-07-27
By New England Yankee (Northern New England)
Great dado set - very high quality, flat-bottom dados. It does not fit the Jet Xacta Saw Deluxe tablesaw, however. While the tablesaw's dust shroud does have a semi-circular cutout, it is not big enough to accommodate the dado set's dial. If possible, you should check for fit on any saw with such a shroud before buying.

"Infinitely adjustable, yet easy to use." 2008-07-21
By J. Dubovsky (Blacksburg, VA USA)
I've used this extensively on my Grizzly 1023 table saw with great results. I would highly recommend this blade set to anyone. My advice on using it:

* when you unbox the blades, measure the chipper thicknesses and label them "A", "B", "C", etc., according to the manual. There one that's thinner than the others, and it is required for certain thickness combinations; identifying it by sight is almost impossible. I wrote on them in silver Sharpie and it solved that problem.

* mark the "zero" on the thickness adjusting dial. Turn it until the back of the dial is perfectly flush with the back of the blade and write a "0" above that tick mark (again, silver Sharpie works great). That way, when the manual says "a 1/2 inch dado is these three blades plus four clicks" you'll know that you're really at four and not, say, three or five.

My saw is a Porter Cable Saw Boss. It's a great saw, but the 6-inch blades are hard to find. It's good that Freud sees fit to make them. The cutting ability of my saw was improved with the new blade, even though the blade on the saw already was still very sharp. I like Freud blades, and use them on my table saw, too.

Sure-save a few $$ and buy just a few blades, but then it's a trick to try to guess which blade might do the trick. Great product, if a bit expensive, amazingly versatile for cutting precise notches into corners, holes in cement backer board and clean, straight lines through dry wall, and just about any metal or wood projects you can imagine. These blades hold their saw teeth edge very well. Since they are not a common, off-the-shelf item, it's a good idea to keep a spare available. Fein 63502113019 3-5/16-Inch Flush Cut Wood Blade

"They are able to be repaired" 2008-12-21
By Larry A. Jones
I found these blades to be somewhat fragile also. I accidently vibrated the center "teeth" out of the blade. I just clamped the blade to a piece of dull brass plate with a 2" slice of pipe to protect the blade teeth. I then filled the entire hole with silver solder, the hard stuff. Keep the heat on the edges of the hole. No flux. The solder wont stick to dull unprepared brass. When it is cool some sanding to flatten the solder plug. put another blade over it and mark the serations and hole. use a small 5/32 drill bit and drill out each one of the seration marks. At this point you can remove the center in many ways, but I recommend grinding with a handheld rotary tool. cut each of the holes in the center. You dont have to be all that accurate about any of this to be successful. it will fit right on and all it takes for time is about 1/2 hour. These blades can be resharpened as well. Breaking this blade can be avoided by being sensitive to how the tool feels while you are cutting. The audible report they issue when being bent or side pressured is very definite, you just need to listen,
