 "SERIOUS FRAMER TIP:" 2009-07-23
By K. Isbell (bastrop, tx, usa)
serious framer tip: if you were to take an 8 1/4" worm drive 'skilsaw', remove the guard, grind out a groove at the front of the base where the blade comes through, and put this freud 9" thin kerf blade on it; you will have an efficient (but not OSHA approved) plating saw capable of cutting two 1 1/2" plates at once (3 1/8" cut). the problem with most 9" blades, if you can find one, is that they are thick sheets of steel almost 1/8" with a 1/8 kerf. this combination of weight and friction will bog the saw down during heavy ripping and becomes several times more dangerous than heavy cross cutting. with this blade, it is thinner and lighter, and has the anti-stick perma-shield barrier. these factors create a smoother, more efficient, and safer performance under heavy ripping conditions with a plating saw.

 "Works great!" 2009-03-09
By Jared Yates (North Carolina USA)
I had trouble finding a local source for a 9-inch blade to go on my old Craftsman model 113 table saw. I use a radial arm saw for cross cuts, so the table saw usually only comes out for ripping. That made this blade aseem like a great choice, and when I set it up and tried it out it turned out to be a great choice indeed. A Rip cut on pine 2x4s ends up so smooth that looks like the piece has been sanded. So far I've also used it on poplar with equally great results.

I PURCHASED THIS BLADE TO CUT 1/4" PLEXIGLASS, IT DOES THAT WITH A SMALL RESIDUE REMAINING AFTER THE CUTS. THESE FALL OFF WITH VERY LITTLE FINGER PRESSURE. MY PLEXIGLASS HAD NO PAPER BACKING. THIS BLADE ALSO CUTS WOOD AND PLASTIC...IT'S THE BEST CUTTING BLADE IN MY WORKSHOP. GET ONE AND SEE WHAT I MEAN. JOHN ARNOLD

By kilograham
I used this to cut 1/2" Lexan for some windows- overall it did a great job, I did notice it took some bites but I don't know if this was the blade or my saw (powermatic 66). Cut finish was decent, and it didn't splinter or crack at all. With the cost of lexan I thought it prudent to get an appropriate blade, this one worked well.

"Cuts plexiglass like it is butter" 2006-02-17
By C. Regan (KC,MO)
This blade rocks and was well worth the price. I use abs plastic and plexiglass quite frequently and I can honestly say that this blade is far superior vs. even my thin kerf 80 or 60 tooth freud blades. I used 1 inch thick lexan for its first test, no chipping it left very small fine shavings instead of little plexi chips. It is a very quiet blade as well. Overall I am very impressed with this product.

 "Limited applications" 2009-12-13
By couillion (south louisiana)
There are several rust prevention products available, and Boeshield has worked as advertised, but with limitations in areas with high humidity. In the shop, I've used "Boeshield T-9" on cast iron and unprotected steel tools. Saw tables, drill press tables, grinder tool rests, radial arm saw support tube, clamp screws and bars, squares and saw blades. The best results with Boeshield alone have been on the small tools, clamps, chisels and combination squares. The next best result was a drill press table, cleaned and wiped with Boeshield and then a coat of paste wax. I'm not convinced that it is any better -or - worse than J&J Paste Wax alone on larger flat surfaces like a saw blade or cast iron saw table. If you don't inspect or use your tools regularly, it may not be for you. Once Boeshield is applied and dry, it is tough to remove. If any rust has started, you'll have a mess cleaning it back down to bare metal again. If you're not sure whether this is the way to go, satisfy yourself with it on a small tool or saw blade first. Follow the instructions on "Rust Free" and "Blade & Bit Cleaner" to clean the surfaces you want to protect, then apply Boeshield. I cut the bottom 2" inches from a 5 gallon bucket to clean saw blades and small tools in.

"as good as the people who use it." 2009-02-05
By Christopher Beyries
I have purchased many of these and agree that this is the best price. We use these in our shop all the time and they are fabulous. A few words of warning. Anyone not experienced with this type of cutting should not try it with this blade. I discovered a few weeks ago that our blade has missing teeth from overuse, overheating and inexperienced workers. Be careful cut slow and the blade will do it's job well. Rush or don't follow directions exactly and you will cost yourself alot of time and money. I recommend these blades to everyone doing this type of work. They greatly reduce the amount of grinding / cleaning required.

By W. Thelander (Sonora, CA)
I have purchased at least six Dewalt blades in the past and have been very happy, they cut good and I could have them sharpened a nmber of times which helps cut down on the cost. The problem I have is that the "NEW" tooth design can only be resharpened 1 or 2 times which does not help with the overall cost. I intent to send my latest order back and look for a better blade with more carbide.

Used on a Porter Cable Saw Boss this 6" blade is the worst I have had on my saw. I thought I would save a few bucks but after 2 cuts it came off so it's money wasted. Horrible & slow rough cuts on 2x4's and plywood both so it's really worthless to me. Spend a few $$ more and enjoy your saw and what it should be like.

 "Great Blade" 2009-11-30
By Bruce (Utah)
This blade is great in my Makita sliding miter saw. Like so many others have reviewed, cuts are true and smooth. Rarely need sanding if I cut the length correctly. This is a AAA class blade, and I like being able to sharpen several times. Good value for the money if you want/need a top grade blade. I also use a few Tenryu Gold Medal blades in my other saws, and both Freud and Tenryu work great. I need my tools to be better than I am, and these blades do that.

"good for the right job" 2009-01-01
By S. Shaw (Indy, IN)
I gave it 4 stars because it is an O.K. blade. I bought it for cutting 3/4" oak plywood (table saw). I was happy with the results, but not impressed. It worked well with other types of wood. Would I buy again? Only if I had to, due to choices available at that time. Price should be $69.99 for what you get.

 "Its Good" 2008-05-22
By Hard Maple (Emmett, ID USA)
Super smooth cuts. But you can't really chop cut with the blade. You have to take a few extra miliseconds than you would with a 60 tooth, but you make that up in sanding and/or gluing time since the cut is now at about a 150-grit finish anyway. It seems to run quieter than the blade I replaced (can't recall the brand or model since its been on so long). And it fits snuggly on my 5/8" arbor, no play. All-in-all I find it an excellent blade for my second most important saw (my table saw has a Woodworker II).

"use full kerf for cross cutting finish work" 2007-11-06
By Benjamin W. Stenzel (minneapolis)
I am thrilled with this saw blade. I have a 12 in for my mitre saw and a 10 in for my table saw. I only use them for cross cutting finish work. When the work is feed in to the blade slow the blade causes less tear out on the back side of the board than any other blade i have used. I have not been happy with other Freud blades. I ended up using them for rough cutting. But these are worth the money.

 "Small Item.. Large Results" 2009-09-08
By J. Thompson (Atlanta)
What can you say about such a small item which does a large job effectively. Fits snuggly on the 1" arbor on my 12" table-saw blades and reduces them to 5/8" to fit the arbor on my 10" 5 HP table-saw giving me 4" depth capability of cut when needed. As long as you make sure your insert opening is large enough to accomodate a 12" blade on your 10" saw.. an effective way to gain depth of cut without actually having a 12" table-saw.

Bottom line is the product "gets er done"!

 "Freud Saw Blade Bushings" 2001-07-03
By
I just bought 6 of these bushings to recycle a 1" arbor dado set I have from a previous saw for use on my new Delta table saw. I was skeptical about stacking these things, but they worked great! The dado ran true and round with no wobble or vibration. The only problem I had with these bushings was that the fit is rather tight. I needed to tap them into the 1" hole on the dado blades, then "work" them on to the saw arbor. Once they were on the arbor, the center hole loosened enough for easy blade removal, except for 1 bushing that was still a little too tight. I guess a tight fit is better than a loose one for something like this, so I believe they will be fine. Once the bushings were on the blades, they remained in place. To remove them I had to place the blade on a block with a space under it, and tap the bushing. My summary is that they do exactly what they say they will do, adapt a 1" saw blade to a 5/8" arbor without any performance loss.
