I bought this to cut wood for my deck. The quality is not so good, a part was broken in a few cuts. I called the customer service, a new part was sent to me very quickly. When I called again to express that it's hard to replace the part myself, a RN it given to me, and a new saw was sent to me in a few days. The saw has all the good functionalies I needs for all the cuts, at the price, it's a great deal.

I am very satisfied with this piece of equipment. The star rating is a reflection of the fact that I know the broader range of what is available. I do finish work around the house and occasionally else where. It does the job I need with baseboard, casing, various other moulding, etc. If one was going to use this type of saw regularly, more amps would be important.

I bought this saw about a month ago. Like one other poster, mine arrived looking like it had been kicked around quite a bit -- the box was bashed in, the unit was bent in a few places and I couldn't really tell if anything was missing because there is no packing list.

Today I tried to set it up and use it. The very few assembly instructions refer to diagrams that are not part of the Owners Manual. I even went and found the online version and still no diagrams. I THINK I got the few things done that were were required in the Assembly Instructions. However when I turn on the saw to use it all I get is a buzz -- the blade doesn't move. I don't know if something jarred loose during shipping or whether I have missed an Assembly step. So I'm off to try Northern Tools customer service.

The saw is well-built... mostly metal, very little plastic. It cuts through ceramic tile like a hot knife through butter. Yes, it will get you wet, but it's a small price to pay to get the job done. It makes miter cuts of any angle with an adjustable rotating table top.

The only negative is the fence. Actually, the fence itself is ok, but the knobs that loosen and tighten it hurt your fingers, so you're better off drawing a line on the tile and freehanding the cuts.

I haven't had the tool long enough to find out whether or not it holds up to being intermittently wet. I'm hoping that the screws, etc, are all stainless steel, but only time will tell.

I found the northern Industrial 7" tile saw to do the cutting of ceramic tile for my kitchen countertop very satisfactory. I would recommend it if cost is the primary consideration

I bought this to trim down some tiles for a firepit I had that had broken tiles. Worked great. The guide would be my only complaint. It is just a little flimsy and hard to get a good/precise setting. But all in all this is a decent saw.
