 "smokin'" 2008-10-02
By John Feesey (British Columbia,Canada)
I do light woodworking to keep up a commercial pottery craft fair booth. Shelves, boxes, cases, like that. Reading reviews of vastly more competent wood crafters that myself on this site compelled me to try this blade and replace the 50 T sidekick OE on the DELTA Tablesaw. WoW. Cutting spruce, cedar, fir stock; thin plywood, doorskins, particleboard, this blade excels.

Really and truly.

I had to wait awhile for the order/ backorder to clear, but worth it.

I just wish I would have found these blades about 20 years ago when I always had to find someone to sharpen my old blades.

These blades cut like a hot knive through butter.

And they are quite.

Also chrome, what more could you ask for.

 "Freud TK406 10" Blades" 2007-06-27
By Glenn Boehmer (Magnolia, Delaware)
I bought these two blades not knowing anything about freud blades. Let me tell you, that these blades turn and cut very true and are very quiet. I went with the 60 tooth for smooth cuts and that's what they do. The smoothest cuts I've seen in a long time (no Frey on the edges). I would buy these blades again in a heartbeat, especially at 34.95 ea.

I specified Freud 10" Finishing Blade due to their quality of product and it was not made in Communist China.

I always "Buy American" or it's allies.

"Freud Makes the Best Blade For the Money" 2005-08-16
By B.B.Rich (Manor, TX United States)

edit-01/23/2006: It's been several months now and I still LOVE this blade. I have used it to cut everything from oak to treated pine to plastic but it even handles that stuff like a real trooper. It is a little slow to rip with, but not bad. For what I do in my hobby shop I don't mind at all. The last cut I made with it is as smooth as the first.

original text: I have to admit that I only bought this blade this morning and couldn't wait to try it out. I installed it on my Jet JWTS-10 table saw, the cheapest of the line. I have made other improvements to the saw but this blade has been one of the best.

In my review of the saw I state that the original blade is good for a starter blade. This one DEFINITELY takes it to the next level and beyond. No tear out AT ALL, either ripping or cross cutting. SMOOTH finish. NO SAW MARKS!!! And it's fairly quick at ripping too. I was concerned about buying another blade designed primarily for cross cutting, and Freud doesn't rate this blade as the best for ripping either, but my results so far have been excellent.

I may add a blade stabilizer, though Freud claims you don't need one with this blade. The plate is a bit thicker near the arbor than it is at the teeth. A 3.5" should do it.

Enough said. Buy it!! For around $35.00 you can't, CAN'T go wrong. A Forrest Woodworker of this quality will cost you nearly THREE TIMES as much.

I hope you find this review helpful, and as always, Good Luck with your own dreams!

"pretty good deal and delivery was fast and easy to jobsite!" 2009-10-21
By Wedemay (Marin County, CA)
The title says it all. worked well got the ob done with some beauty and speed. Installed 2 flights of custom white oak stairs with hardwood flooring over original fir staircase. It's cheaper with time load to buy blades than sharpen them. Sad commentary on local sharpening prices in Marin.

"Great Blade at a Great Price" 2009-10-05
By D. Niederhauser (Lehi, UT)
I originally was going to go with the Diablo blade but found this one and decided to give it a try. While I've only had the Hitachi blade for a couple of months so only time will tell if it holds up as long as a Diablo blade will, for now I've put this Hitachi blade through a lot of use while building a completely new bathroom and this Hitachi blade has been great. It makes very quick, smooth, fine finished cuts and has a blade that it a bit thinner which makes it easier to be right on target with your measured cuts. From my experience with this blade I will tell you that you will not notice any difference between this blade and a Diablo blade that retails at twice the price. I think it's a great value for the price.

"This is a good saw blade, but..." 2009-04-29
By W. B. Halper (Saratoga, CA)
...it doesn't hold a candle to the Freud D0860S Diablo 8-1/2-Inch 60 Tooth Fine Finishing Miter Saw Blade with 5/8-Inch Arbor. The Freud, with the laser-cut expansion and resonance-dampening slots, runs quieter and cuts smoother than this blade. It's worth the difference in price...especially since a saw blade is NOT the place to save money on a project!
