I bought this blade to demo the box off a 17' box van, all FRP panels and extruded aluminum 'bones'. The Sawzall with a demo blade was working but slowly and with the huge noise & vibration you expect from a Sawzall. So I tried this blade in my Makita Hypoid.
This blade is not some kind of last-resort, better-than-nothing solution for cutting aluminum. My Makita was eating aluminum about like it eats pine 2by lumber! Smooth, near-effortless cutting, easy to control, and the saw never really worked up a sweat. Hours of Sawzall work was done in about 15 minutes.
Two things you should know-
1. This blade makes A LOT of noise. Hearing protection is a must.
2. This blade spits aluminum 'sawdust' all over the place. It's not sharp like steel trimmings but it's aggravating. I brushed myself off with a whisk broom before going back in the house.

This is an interesting story. I had an aluminum decorative fence to install in my backyard and went to Lowe's and Home Depot to find a non-ferrous blade. Neither had one in stock, so I turned to their web pages. In both cases, navigating their web pages was so laborious, I gave up. I figured there was no way that Amazon would have the blade, but I gave them a shot anyway. To my surprise, they had it! If I were Lowe's and Home Depot, I'd be very embarrassed.
Anyway, the blade has worked great. I have made over 100 cuts with it so far and it doesn't seem to be getting dull. Not only that, the blade cuts through aluminum cleanly and smoothly like a hot knife through butter. I really couldn't be more satisfied with my purchase.

I have been cutting aluminum with a 36 tooth metal blade but I was not cutting a smooth cut. But what a diffrence The correct blade makes From now on 36 teeth blade is great for steel and 60 teeth blade for aluminum never too old to learn V/R Larry

This blade seems to be top-notch. I do not have experience with other non-ferrous metal cutting blades, but this one seems to do the job perfectly: Nice smooth cuts, without burrs or distortion. I was able to purchase this one for $19.99, plus $4.99 shipping, so it is one of the most affordable blades of this type available right now.
