serious framer tip: if you were to take an 8 1/4" worm drive 'skilsaw', remove the guard, grind out a groove at the front of the base where the blade comes through, and put this freud 9" thin kerf blade on it; you will have an efficient (but not OSHA approved) plating saw capable of cutting two 1 1/2" plates at once (3 1/8" cut). the problem with most 9" blades, if you can find one, is that they are thick sheets of steel almost 1/8" with a 1/8 kerf. this combination of weight and friction will bog the saw down during heavy ripping and becomes several times more dangerous than heavy cross cutting. with this blade, it is thinner and lighter, and has the anti-stick perma-shield barrier. these factors create a smoother, more efficient, and safer performance under heavy ripping conditions with a plating saw.

This blade is awesome. We used it to rip 2 x 12's into 2 x 4's and it cut through them like a hot knife through butter.

I had trouble finding a local source for a 9-inch blade to go on my old Craftsman model 113 table saw. I use a radial arm saw for cross cuts, so the table saw usually only comes out for ripping. That made this blade aseem like a great choice, and when I set it up and tried it out it turned out to be a great choice indeed. A Rip cut on pine 2x4s ends up so smooth that looks like the piece has been sanded. So far I've also used it on poplar with equally great results.

I use the 10" version of this blade and use one constantly. The thin kerf lets it cut through hardwoods like butter. The thin kerf is a big help with an under powered saw. I have a number of blades, but I use this the most

In keeping this breif. I have an old model DeWalt that I have been struggling with hardwood rips on. Since I got this Freud blade the problems are gone, cuts are smoothe as can be. I will buy this product again.
