After taking my old 1971-vintage Craftsman 9-inch radial arm saw out of mothballs for a recent project, I'd have been happy to discover that *any* 9-inch blades were still being made. To find one of this quality and performance was just a bonus. So far, I've only used it for cross-cutting softwood pieces & PVC exterior trim, but every cut has been very clean and with silky smooth ends and no tear-outs. I also picked up the Freud LU87R009 22-tooth ripping blade, but haven't had a chance to try it out, yet.

Excellent blade for the older DeWalt 9" radial arm saws such as the 925 and MBF. Glass smooth crosscuts in hardwoods with no splintering or tear out on the bottom.

I've been using my DeWalt 9" radial arm saw since 1959 when my dad bought it for me for Christmas. I was 12 years old.
I love wood working and I have lugged my DeWalt with me where ever I lived. Over those years saw blade technology has improved many times.
Well, with the advent of this Freud LU88R saw blade, I don,t see how blades can get any better, except, maybe, for laser wood cutting some day.
This Diablo blade leaves all the other saw blades in the dust (pun intended). It is extemely quiet, doesn't "sing" at all when not cutting. And, boy, does it cut. Zips through mahogany and oak like butter. It cuts so well I had to show it to my wife (like she should care).
I recommend that you buy two so you always have a really sharp cross-cut blade to use.

We have an OLD dewalt radial arm saw that is underpowered. We read that this blade is specifically designed for underpowered saws. It is thinner and has a narrower kerf which means it has less wood to remove to make a cut. We read about this in a magazine that gave it a thumbs up, and we concur. It exceeded our expectations. We were cutting walnut and Brazilian Teak (aka cumaru), which is second on the wood hardness scale at our local flooring company. I expected burning and hesitation/choking on the part of the saw. It cut beautifully despite the difficult wood. No burning at all, no hesitation on the part of the saw. I will continue to get this blade and in fact am looking for one for my chop saw.
